About Us Pcc (Police Clearance Certificate)

Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) will be issued after confirmation of applicant’s Police Verification Records (PVR) from the system of the Consulate. In the absence of PVR status in the system, the case will be referred to the concerned authorities in India for clearance.

How to Apply in Person:

1.

Please fill up the application for PCC online at the portal: https://portal4.passportindia.gov.in/Online/index.html by registering through “Register” link and loging-in through “User Login” link. Please download the filled-in application and submit it at the Consulate duly signed and photograph affixed along with the documents mentioned below.


2.

Duly filled-in, photograph-affixed and signed Personal Particulars Form.


3.

Applicant’s current valid Indian passport in original and its photocopy (first five pages and last two pages of the passport).


4.

Original and photocopy of the document showing valid US Visa Status (Green Card, Employment Authorization Card or visa affixed on the passport and I-94)


5.

Original and photocopy of any of the following documents as proof of residence: US Driving License, Utility Bill (Gas, Electricity, Water or Landline Telephone), Lease Agreement, State Identification Card, and Mortgage Deed.


Note: Bank/credit card/mobile phone statements are not accepted as residence proof. 


6.

Fee:  A non-refundable consular fee of US$ 25 (if the current passport is issued by CGI, Atlanta) or US$ 45 (if the current passport is issued from elsewhere) plus US$ 2 towards Indian Community Welfare Fund (ICWF). The fees may be paid in cash or by money orders/cashiers’ cheques drawn in favour of the Consulate General of India. If paid by money orders/cheques, the payment for consular fee and ICWF fee should be made by separate money orders/cashier’s cheques.

Note: Personal cheques, credit cards, debit cards, etc are not accepted.


7.

If you want to receive the documents back through mail, please provide a trackable pre-paid return mailing envelope.


8.

Processing Time: 5 working days if clearance from authorities in India is not required.

How to Apply by Post:

Processing Time: 10 working days from the date of receipt of application if clearance from authorities in India is not required.


How to apply by non-Indian passport holders: Applicants holding non-Indian passports may download the Miscellaneous Services Application form, fill it up carefully, affix recent passport size photograph and submit it at the Consulate along with the documents mentioned from Sl. No.2 onwards of the above tables. Such applicants should provide complete details of their stay in India, including date/month/year of their stay with complete residential/official addresses.
