Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi is organizing the 36 th edition of Know India Programme (KIP) from 1st to 25 th October 2016 to strengthen engagement with young overseas Indians.  Focus of this KIP will be “Punjab”.


KIP is an engagement programme for Diaspora youth (between the age of 18-30 years) of Indian origin to introduce them to India and promote awareness about different facets of Indian life, our cultural heritage, art and the transformation taking place in India. This programme is open to youth of Indian origin (excluding non-resident Indians). The programme has been in existence since 2003.


Under the Programme, 90% of the cost of air fare will be borne by the Government of India, while 10% by the individual concerned. The selected candidates will be provided local hospitality e.g. boarding/lodging in State guest houses or budget hotels besides Internal travel in India. It is mandatory for KIP participants to hold International Travel and Medical Insurance.


The last date of receipt of applications at the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi is 30 th August, 2016. The interested eligible candidates may therefore, send their application form by 26 th August, 2016 to the High Commission of India, Abuja for consideration.
